From January 2014, jazz lover and musical genius Jasper Somsen will invite an ever changing group of Jazz players and singers on stage in Loburg from all over the world. A Monthly changing selection of artist will bring you the best in Jazz on the LoburgLive Stage.

Humphrey Campbell
Humphrey Campbell was born on February 26, 1958, at Moengo in Marowijne in Suriname. At the age of 15 he received a scholarship to travel to the Netherlands . After his return to his native country Suriname, he got his first recording contract and an offer as permanent singer of Oscar Harris & The Twinkle Stars . With that pop orchestra he toured Europe and South America. In 1975 came his first single as a solo artist. In 1982 he graduated cum laude from the Hilversum Conservatory and was immediately appointed professor .
He worked with all professional (jazz ) bands in the Netherlands, Germany and Belgium and with Karin Bloemen, Ruth Jacott, Rob de Nijs, Toon Roos Quartet, Paul de Leeuw and Lionel Richie.

Karel Boehlee
From his earliest years Boehlee was a revelation in the Dutch jazz scene. From his birthplace he started from the age of 16 to play with various bands and jazz artists, such as the Toon Roos Quartet, and Batida .
His first records were an immediate success, especially in Japan . Since 1989 he was invited by his European Jazz Trio for several tours in Japan. Over the years Boehlee has emerged as one of the greatest pianists in the Netherlands, resulting in performances of international jazz musicians. So he has been playing for over twenty years as a pianist with a.o. Toots Thielemans and Philip Catherine . He is also much in demand as a musician with pop artists like Gino Vanelli .
Furthermore Boehlee has played with Toon Roos, Martijn van Iterson, Povel, Jesse van Ruller, Woody Shaw, Trijntje Oosterhuis, Roberta Gambarini, Wynton Marsalis, Gino Vannelli, Ben Herman, Fay Claassen and Peter Erskine, with most of them he also made ​​recordings.
In addition to his career as a pianist Karel Boehlee also is chief teacher of piano at the Conservatory of Amsterdam.
