In 2016 Jazz In Wageningen together with LoburgLive again will organize a series of Jazz concerts on Thursday evenings. Our own Jasper Somsen invites the best jazz musicians of the Netherlands on 7 Thursday evenings this year. Concerts will start ar 20:30 and entrance is free 

Jasper Somsen

Dutch double bassist & composer Jasper Somsen (1973) studied Jazz and Classical double bass at the conservatories of Utrecht and Amsterdam, The Netherlands. During his career Jasper has performed with some of the very best musicians at the (inter)national jazz scene, a.o.: Joey Calderazzo, Enrico Pieranunzi, Bob Sheppard, Justin Faulkner, André Ceccarelli, Gabriele Mirabassi, Bert van den Brink, Ramón Valle, Toon Roos, Karel Boehlee, John Engels, Ferdinand Povel, Yuri Honing, Eric Vloeimans and vocalists: Humphrey Campbell, Fay Claassen, Rita Reys, Nancy Marano and Lori Lieberman. 
The Jasper Somsen Group released two internationally highly acclaimed albums: "Dreams, Thoughts & Poetry" (The Music of Enrico Pieranunzi - 2010) and “Sardegna” (2013). Jasper can be heard at more than 20 CD and DVD productions

Jeroen van Vliet 

Pianist Jeroen van Vliet  won early in his career 2 soloïst en 2 first prices. Nowadays he works in the groups of  Eric Vloeimans, Simin Tander, and with Estafest!, a band with Anton Goudsmit, Oene van Geel and Mete Erker. He released 10 albums, including a new solo-album and a trio-album, to be released januari 2014. He contributed to another 50 albums. The last couple of years he toured all over the world, among others with Eric Vloeimans' Gatecrash. In 2014 Jeroen won the Dutch Boy Edgar Prize. Jeroen van Vliet is a teacher at the ArtEZ Conservatory, Arnhem.

Jasper Le Clercq 

Violinist Jasper Le Clercq is a musician with a very varied existence. His musicality and instrument offer him the opportunity to travel almost simultaneously in very different musical worlds. With the crossover string quartet Zapp4 he plays and tours all over the world. His Jasper le Clercq Quartet guarantees multicolored, theatrical and narrative music. New Niks combines rock music and free improvisation seamlessly. With music theater Ausdauer he explores Stravinsky and Olivier Messian and together with poet Tjitske Jansen regularly at festivals and literary events. He is a teacher at the ArtEZ Conservatory in Arnhem.
